37.
No promotion shall be given to a higher class unless a student secures at least the pass mark as described in clause (e) of Rule 36:Provided that-(i)In the event a student failing to appear at any annual examination owing to his illness or for other reasons considered satisfactory by the Principal promotion may be given on the results of his half-yearly examination.(ii)Students failing in one subject only in the annual examinations or in the preliminary examinations may be promoted to the next higher class subject to the condition that he will be reverted to the class from which he has been promoted if he fails to pass in that subject at a supplementary examination to be held within three months of his promotion.
