Section 40(1) in Himachal Pradesh University Act, 1970
(1)Subject to the provisions of this Act and the Statutes, the Ordinances may provide for all or any of the following matters, namely :-(a)the admission of students, the courses of study and the fees therefore, the qualification, pertaining to degrees, diplomas, certificates and other academic distinctions, the conditions for the grant of Fellowships, Scholarships, awards and the like;(b)the conduct of examinations, including the term of office and appointment of examiners, and the conditions of residence of students and their general discipline;(c)the management of colleges and institutions maintained by the University;(d)the giving of religious instruction;(e)the emoluments and the terms and conditions of service of the University;(f)the supervision and inspection of colleges and other institutions admitted to the privileges of the University;(g)any other matter which by this Act or the Statutes is to be or may be provided for by the Ordinances.
