BE it enacted by Parliament in the Forty- seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-An Act further to amend the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988.

1. Short title.

This Act may be called the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Act, 1996 .

2. Amendment of section 10 of Act 46 of 1988 .

In the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988 , in section 10, in sub- section 1, for the figures, letters and words" 31st day of July, 1996 ", the figures, letters and words" 31st day of July, 1999 " shall be substituted.
