Section 38(c) in The Statutes of the Punjabi University
(c)All whole-time members of the teaching staff shall retire on reaching the age of sixty years; provided that an extension for a period up to two years but not exceeding one year at a time, may be allowed in special cases on the recommendation of the Vice-Chancellor. Such extension however, shall not be beyond July 31 of the year in which the employee attains the age of 62 years :
