Section 27A(1) in The Maharashtra Agricultural Lands (Ceiling on Holdings) Act, 1961
(1)the Collector may, with the previous approval of the State Government, grant or make available any surplus land for any public purpose only if any Government land is not suitable, or any other land is not found suitable for acquisition, for such public purpose, under the Land Acquisition Act, 1894;
