Section 15(1) in Punjab Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads Act, 1961
(1)The Chairman, Vice-Chairman or a Member of Panchayat Samiti after entering upon his office, shall forthwith cease to be the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, or the Member, as the case may be, and his office shall become vacant if-(a)he becomes subject to any of the disqualifications specified in section 6; 1[* *](b)he absents himself without the permission of the Panchayat Samiti from more than three consecutive ordinary meetings of the Samiti; 1[or];(c)he ceases to have the qualification on the basis of which he was elected as a Member of Panchayat Samiti:Provided that a Chairman, Vice-Chairman, or a Member, as the case may be, who ceases to have the qualification referred to in clause (c) shall, unless the Government otherwise directs, continue in office until his successor enters upon his duties].
