34. Constitution of Selection Committee for appointment of Officers and teachers of a faculty.
(1)The Board shall constitute a selection committee in regard to the appointment of teachers for each faculty which shall consist of the following persons, namely:-(i)the Vice-Chancellor who shall be ex-officio Chairman of the Committee;(ii)the Dean of Faculty concerned; and(iii)three experts in the case of selection of Professors, two experts in the case of selection of Associate Professors and one expert in the case of selection of Assistant Professors nominated by the Board, the experts being from outside the University, having special knowledge of the subject concerned.(2)The teachers of a Faculty shall be appointed by the Board on the recommendation of the Selection Committee of that Faculty and their remuneration and other conditions of service shall be such as may be prescribed.(3)The appointment of non-teaching staff and other employees shall be as may be prescribed.
