Rule THE-COINAGE-OF-ONE-HUNDRED-RUPEES-AND-FIVE-RUPEES-COINS-TO-MARK-THE-OCCASION-OF-CENTENARY-COMMEMORATION-OF-KOMAGATA-MARU-INCIDENT-RULES-2014 of 2014

The Coinage of One Hundred Rupees and Five Rupees Coins to mark the Occasion of Centenary Commemoration of Komagata Maru Incident Rules, 2014Published Vide Notification New Delhi, the 26th September, 2014G.S.R. 697(E). - In exercise of the powers conferred by clauses (d) and (e) of sub-section (2) of Section 24 of the Coinage Act, 2011 (11 of 2011), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules, namely :-

1. Short title and commencement.

(1)These rules may be called the Coinage of One Hundred Rupees and Five Rupees Coins to mark the occasion of Centenary Commemoration of Komagata Maru Incident Rules, 2014.
(2)They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

2. Denomination of coins.

- The coins of the following denominations shall also be coined at the Mint for issue under the authority of the Central Government to commemorate the occasion of "Centenary Commemoration of Komagata Maru Incident", namely:-
(i)One Hundred Rupees;
(ii)Five Rupees.

3. Dimension, composition, etc. of coins.

- The coins of the denominations mentioned in rule 2 shall conform to the following dimensions and composition, namely:-

4. Design.

- The design of the coins shall be as under :-
(i)One Hundred Rupees
Obverse:The face of the coin shall bear the Lion Capitol of Ashoka Pillar in the centre with the legend ^^lR;eso t;rs inscribed below, flanked on the left upper periphery with the word ^^Hkkjr in Devnagri script and on the right upper periphery with the word "India" in English. It shall also bear the Rupee symbol "र" and denominational value "100" in International Numerals below the Lion Capitol.Reverse:The face of the coin shall bear the portrait of "Komagata Maru" ship in the centre, with inscription ^^'krkCnh Lej.kksRlo and ^^DksekxkVk ek: izlax in Devnagri script on top periphery and right lower periphery respectively. On the left upper periphery and lower periphery shall bear the inscription "Centenary Commemoration" and "Komagata Maru Incident" in English respectively. The year's figure "1914-2014" shall be shown on right upper periphery in international numerals.
(ii)Five Rupees

On the left upper periphery and lower periphery shall bear the inscription "Centenary Commemoration" and "Komagata Maru Incident" in English respectively. The year's figure "1914-2014" shall be shown on right upper periphery in international numerals.

5. Standard weight and remedy allowed.

- The standard weight of the coins of the following denominations, coined to commemorate the occasion of "Centenary Commemoration of Komagata Maru Incident" and the remedy allowed in making of such coins shall be as specified in the Table below:-Table

Five Rupees 6 Grams 1/100thplus or minus for Copper and Zinc, thatis to say Copper could vary from 74 per cent to 76 per cent andZinc from 19 per cent to 21 per cent and 1/200thplus or minusfor Nickel that is to say Nickel could vary from 4.5 per cent to5.5 per cent. 1/40thplus or minus, that is to say, theweight could vary from 5.85 gram to 6.15 gram.
