Section 101(b) in The Punjab Capital (Development and Regulation) Building Rules, 1952
(b)[ An efficient syphon trap with minimum water seal of 7.5 cms. shall be fixed immediately beneath or in connection with such pan so that sufficient water seal between the pan and any drain or soil pipe is maintained.
