Section 238 in The Navy (Pay And Allowances) Regulations, 1966

238. Admissibility for officers serving afloat.

(1)Officers appointed afloat may also be allowed to draw advances for the purchase of motor cars subject to the same terms and conditions as are applicable to other officers and as are laid down in regulations 236 and 237.
(2)Officers of the rank of Lieutenant Commander and above drawing substantive pay of not less than one thousand rupees may draw advances for the purchase of motor car with the sanction of the competent authority shown below:
