Section 3(3)(b) in The Assam Technical Education Service Rules, 1981

(b)The posts of Workship Superintendent in Engineering Colleges as also in Polytechnic shall belong to Mechanical Branch while the post of Superintendent, Junior Technical School may belong either to the Mechanical branch or to the Electrical branch.
