Section 689 in Bihar Education Code, 1961

689. Method of award.

- The marks assigned to the candidates will be forwarded to the District Education Officer, who will award the scholarship in accordance with the rules. Not more than one scholarship will ordinarily be awarded to a school in one year, provided that a boy and girl may gain scholarship from the same school and provided also that the District Education Officer may in other exceptional cases permit a school to secure more than one scholarship. A printed copy of the award list will be supplied to each school and the certificate signed by the District Education Officer will be sent to the successful candidates through the Head of the Institution. The District Education Officer should not use facsimile stamp on the certificate.(G. O. no. 4335, dated the 24th November, 1958.)Note. - (1) Two Primary or Middle Scholarships can be given to a school in exceptional cases such as the following
(i)two boys from one school having secured the same number of marks at the examination;
(ii)two boys from one school entitled by their marks to scholarship and no candidate being forthcoming from other school;
(iii)two boys from one school receiving marks very much higher (say 10 per cent) than-those candidates from other schools).
