Section 49 in West Bengal Shops and Establishments Rules, 1964

49. Co-operation with the Inspector.

(1)All orders, letters, reports, and other documents issued by an Inspector with respect to the provisions of the Act shall be properly filed and preserved by the shop-keeper or employer concerned for a period of 12 months and shall be made available in the shop or establishment for examination by the Inspector.
(2)Any demand by an Inspector for any information or production of any document relating to the working of the Act, if made during the course of an inspection of any shop or establishment, shall be complied with by the shop-keeper or employer concerned forthwith, if the information can be made easily available in the shop or establishment, and if not so available within fifteen days of receipt thereof.
