Section 17(1) in The U.P. Fisheries (Gazetted) Service Rules, 1993
(1)Recruitment by promotion to the post of Director shall be made on the basis of merit and to the post of joint Director, Deputy Director, Chemist and Lecturer on the basis of seniority subject to the rejection of the unfit, through a Selection Committee constituted in accordance with the Uttar Pradesh Constitution of Departmental Promotion Committee (for Posts Outside the Purview of the Service Commission) Rules, 1992.
