Section 4 in Andhra Pradesh (Regulation of Admissions in Bachelor of Physical Education (B.PEd) and Under Graduate Diploma in Physical Education (U.G.D.PEd) Courses through common entrance test Rules, 2007

4. Eligibility Criteria for Admissions.

- 1. The eligibility criteria for Admission into colleges of Physical Education shall be as mentioned below:i. Candidates should be of Indian Nationalityii. Candidates should satisfy local/non-local status requirements as laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 as subsequently amendediii. The candidates should have secured a rank at the common entrance test and satisfy other conditions laid down in these rules.
(A)For Bachelor of Physical Education Course (B.PEd.)
(a)Educational Qualification - Candidates seeking admission should have passed the three-year Bachelor degree examination in any faculty or any examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Universities in Andhra Pradesh. However, the candidates who appeared or appearing for the final year degree examination, the results of which are likely to be declared before the commencement of counselling for admissions into the course are also eligible to apply for the Test. But such candidates should produce the pass certificate and marks list at the time of counselling for admission.
(b)Age Limit - Candidates should have completed 19 years of age on the date of commencement of the admissions. There is no upper age limit.
(B)For Under Graduation Diploma in Physical Education Course (U.G.D.PEd.) - 2 years
(a)Educational Qualification - Candidates seeking admission should have acquired anyone of the following educational qualifications. Those who appear or appearing for the final year of the qualifying examination, the results of which are likely to be declared before the commencement of counselling for admissions into the course are also eligible to appear for the Test. However, such candidates should produce the pass certificate and marks list at the time of counselling for admission.
(i)2-year Intermediate Course
OR
(a)Intermediate Vocational Course in any field conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh
OR
(b)Any other examination recognized as equivalent to the above examinations by the respective bodies in Andhra Pradesh.
(b)Age Limit - Candidates should have completed 16 years of age on the date of commencement of the admissions. There is no upper age limit.
Provided that the Category B Seats as specified in Rule 3(ii)(c) above shall be filled on the basis of rank obtained in the Common Entrance Test conducted by the concerned university.
(iv)The vacant seats if any, may be filled with eligible candidates including those securing not less than 50% marks in aggregate in the qualifying examination duly ensuring merit and transparency.
(v)The requirement of securing a rank at PECET entrance test conducted by the concerned University shall not be applicable to the candidates sponsored by the Ministry of Human Resource Development.
(vi)In Service Candidates - In service candidates are exempted from appearing PECET/PECET-AC
Candidates should be nominated by the State Government to the extent decided from time to time among all categories of the in-service Physical Education Teacher candidates (including Physical Directors) working in the Educational Institutions under all categories of managements namely Government, Local Bodies and Private under the jurisdiction of Director of School Education.The applications of the in-service teacher candidates working in the educational institutions under all categories of managements shall be submitted through the respective appointing authorities and forwarded through the District Educational Officer concerned to the Director of School Education, Hyderabad. The selection of in-service teacher candidates shall be made on the basis of the length of service.
