8. The Chancellor.
(1)[The Chief Minister of Assam] [Substituted for the words The Governor of Assam by Assam Act No 6 of 2011 w.e.f. 25.4.2011] shall be the Chancellor of the University.(2)The Chancellor, when present, shall preside at any meeting of the Court and at any Convocation of the University.
