Section 36 in U.P. Zila Panchayats (Election of Adhyaksha and UP-Adhyaksha and Settlement of Election Disputes) Rules, 1994

36. Security.

(1)At the time of presenting an election petition the petitioner shall enclose with it a receipt showing that a sum of two hundred and fifty rupees has been deposited by him or on his behalf in a Government Treasury or in the State Bank of India as security for the costs of the petition.
(2)There shall be paid on an election petition the court-fee prescribed in the Court Fees Act, 1870, or if no such court-fee is prescribed in that Act, a fee of Rs. 125 in court-fee stamps.
