49. Resignation of members and nomination in certain circumstances.
(1)A member of a Marketing Committee may resign his office by writing under his hand, addressed to the Chairman. The resignation shall take effect from the date on which it is accepted by the Chairman.(2)If at any time it appears to the Government that any Marketing Committee, by reason of the resignation of all or a majority of the members thereof, is unable to discharge the functions conferred or imposed upon it by or under this Act, the Government may, by notification, nominate persons from the respective category of members to fill the vacancies of the members who have resigned and the person so nominated shall hold office for the remainder of the term of the Marketing Committee.
