Section 27(a) in Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Officers and Staff Appointment) Regulation, 2001
(a)to look after work of next higher grade for such period as may be specified in the order, to the officer or staff member while he continues to hold a particular post and responsibility without any pecuniary benefit;
