Section 26(3) in The West Bengal University of Animal and Fishery Sciences Act, 1995
(3)The University shall undertake such veterinary and animal sciences, fishery sciences, and dairy technology extension education activities as may be deemed necessary for the purpose of-(a)informing and educating by demonstration the livestock farmers, fish farmers and fishermen the findings and developments of research on improved practices essential to uplift the conditions of the rural living;(b)increasing animal and fish production with special emphasis on food productions and utilisation; and(c)multiplying the new breeds and improved stains of modern technology evolved or introduced by the veterinary, animal husbandry, and fishery research stations.
