Section 2(i) in Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Rules, 1988
(i)"Sale Officer" means the Registrar or a Government servant or an officer subordinate to the Registrar authorised or empowered by the Registrar to distraint and sell the produce of any land or to attach and sell the property of any judgement debtor under the Act or these rules;
