Section 7(2) in The Thoothukudi City Municipal Corporation Act, 2008
(2)Such cessor shall not affect,-(a)the previous operation of the District Municipalities Act in respect of the local area comprised within the city of Thoothukudi;(b)any penalty, forfeiture or punishment incurred in respect of any offence committed against the District Municipalities Act; or(c)any investigation, legal proceedings or remedy in respect of such penalty, forfeiture or punishment, and any such penalty, forfeiture or punishment may be imposed as if this Act, had not been passed.
