41. Post-graduate instruction, teaching and training.
(1)All post-graduate instruction, teaching and training shall be conducted by the University or subject to the control of the University by such colleges or institutions and in such subjects as may be prescribed by the Statutes.(2)For the purpose of organizing and coordinating the post-graduate instruction, teaching and training, there shall be constituted a Board to be known as the Board of University Teaching and Research.(3)All post-graduate departments shall ordinarily be located at the headquarters of the University. However, the University may locate any of such department at a place or places outside of its headquarters.(4)The University may maintain University centres at places other than the headquarters of the University on such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the Statutes.(5)The Board of University Teaching and Research shall,-(i)advise the authorities on all matters connected with the promotion of advanced studies and research in the university;(ii)consider and report to the authorities on the institution of research degrees in the University;(iii)propose regulations regarding the award of research degrees;(iv)appoint supervisors for research studies and to determine the subjects of their thesis;(v)recommend panels of experts for setting examination papers and examiners for research and examinations after considering the proposals of the Board of Studies in this behalf;(vi)perform such other functions as may be prescribed by the Statutes.
