Section 1 in The Goa, Daman and Diu Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1978
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Goa, Daman and Diu Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains Act, 1978.(2)It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Goa, Daman and Diu.(3)It shall [come into force] [The Act came into force w.e.f. 1-2-1980 vide Notification No. 9-4-79-WET dated 1-2-1980 published in Official Gazette, Series I No. 45 dated 7-2-1980.] on such date as the Government may, by notification, appoint.
