Section 4(11)(a) in Sardar Patel University Act, 1955

(a)have pursued approved courses of study in the University, or in an affiliated college or in recognised institution unless exempted therefrom in the manner prescribed by the [Statutes, Ordinances or Regulations] [These words were substituted for the words 'Statutes and Ordinances', by Gujarat 8 of 1966, Section 5(2)(i)] and have passed the examinations prescribed by the University; or
