(4)Out of the vacancies to be filled in by direct recruitment, [twenty five per centum] [See See Punjab Legislative Supplement Part III dated 25.7.75, pages 471.] of the vacancies shall be filled in from amongst candidates belonging to Schedules Castes or Scheduled Tribes and [five percentum] [See See Punjab Legislative Supplement Part III dated 25.7.75, pages 471.] of the vacancies shall be filled in from amongst candidates belonging to backward classes.
