(1)Disinfection, disinsecting, deratting and other sanitary operations shall be so carried out as(a)not to cause undue discomfort to any person, or injury to his health;(b)not to produce any deleterious effect on the structure of a ship, or on its operating equipment; and(c)to avoid all risk of fire.(2)In carrying out such operations on foods, baggage and other articles, every precaution shall be taken to avoid any damage.
