Section 1 in Territorial Waters, Continental Shelf, Exclusive Economic Zone and Other Maritime Zones Act, 1976
1. Short title and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Territorial Waters, Continental Shelf, Exclusive Economic Zone and Other Maritime Zones Act, 1976.(2)Sections 5 and 7 shall come into force on such [date] [15th January, 1977, vide notification No. G.S.R. 16(E), dated 15th January, 1977, see Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, sec. 3(i).] or on such different dates as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint; and the remaining provisions of this Act shall come into force at once.
