19. Powers, duties and functions of Board.

(1)Subject to the provisions of this Act and the rules made thereunder, the Board shall exercise such powers and perform such functions as it may consider necessary for carrying out the purposes of this Act.
(2)In particular and without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing provisions, the powers and functions of the Board shall be-
(a)to maintain the State register of practitioners and the list of practitioners as required under Sections 24 and 28 respectively;
(b)to hear and decide appeals from any decision of the Registrar in such manner as may be prescribed;
(c)to prescribe a code of ethics for regulating the professional conduct of registered and enlisted practitioners;
(d)to reprimand a registered or enlisted practice her, or to suspend or remove him from the State register of practitioners or from the list, as the case may be, or to take such other disciplinary action against him as may, in the opinion of the Board, be necessary or expedient.
