Section 35(1) in The Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya Act, 2000
(1)A Teacher in the rank of Professor or of Reader of the University shall be appointed by the Executive Council on the recommendation of a Selection Committee consisting of -(a)the Vice-Chancellor as Chairman;(b)the Dean of the concerned Faculty and the Director of Research or the Director of Extension Education, depending upon the primary assignment of the post to be recruited;(c)three external members not holding any office of profit under the University, having special knowledge of the subject which the Professor or the Reader will teach or work, of whom two shall be the nominees of the Chancellor and one shall be a nominee of the Executive Council.
