Manipur General Clauses Act, 1966Manipur Act 3 of 1966Last Updated 7th February, 2020An Act to provide for the application of the General Clauses Act, 1897 for the interpretation of the Acts of the Legislature of the Union Territory of ManipurIt is hereby enacted in the Seventeenth Year of the Republic of India as follows :

1. Short title, extent and commencement.

(1)This Act may be called the Manipur General Clauses Act, 1966.
(2)It extends to the whole of the Union Territory of Manipur.
(3)It shall come into force at once.

2. General Clauses Act, 1897, to apply to Acts of the Legislative Assembly of Manipur.

- Unless the context otherwise requires, the General Clauses Act, 1897, shall apply for the interpretation of the Acts of the Legislature of the Union Territory of Manipur (whether enacted before or after the commencement of this Act), as it applies for the interpretation of a Central Act.
