26. Maintenance and improvement of Schools, hospitals and dispensaries.
(1)The Gram Panchayat shall render such assistance as may be prescribed in the maintenance, improvement and efficient running of the schools, hospitals and dispensaries in or near its jurisdiction.(2)The Gram Panchayat may contribute funds to any charitable or national cause or any work or scheme for removing distress and ameliorating the conditions of the people in the rural areas as approved by the Government.
