Section 34(a) in Police Regulations, Bengal , 1943
(a)All serving officers shall keep in touch with retired police officers living in their respective jurisdictions and shall attempt to maintain friendly relations with them. In particular, Circle Inspectors and officers in charge of police-stations shall seek their co-operation whenever their knowledge or experience is likely to prove useful.
