(1)This Act may be called the Nagaland Forest Act, 1968.(2)It extends to the whole of Nagaland ; Provided that the State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, exempt any place from the operation of the whole or any part thereof, and withdraw such exemption.(3)It shall come into force on such day as the State Government may by notification in the official in the Gazette direct.(4)A notification under the proviso to sub-section (2) exempting a place from the operation of the whole or any part of the Act shall not affect anything done, or any offence committed, or any fine or penalty imposed in such place before such exemption.
