Section 1 in The Punjab Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Act, 1997
1. In section 1,-
(i)in sub-section (1), for the words, brackets and figures "the Punjab Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Act, 1997", the words, brackets and figures "the Punjab Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Act, 1997, as extended to the Union Territory, Chandigarh," shall be substituted;(ii)for sub-section (2), the following sub-section shall be substituted, namely :-"(2) It shall come into force at once."
