199. Provision of communication pipes and fittings.
(1)When an application under section 197 or section 198 has been received, all necessary communication pipes and fittings shall be supplied by the municipality or other agency, and the work of laying and connecting such communication pipes and fittings shall be executed under the orders of the Municipal Commissioner or the Executive Officer or the other agency, as the case may be.(2)The cost of making such connections and of such communication pipes and fittings and of the work of laying and connecting such communication pipes and fittings shall be paid by the owner or the person making such application.(3)Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the Municipal Commissioner or the Executive Officer may require any owner, or the person applying for supply of water, to provide, to his satisfaction, all communication pipes and fittings, and to carry out at the owner's or the applicant's cost and under his supervision and inspection, the work of laying and connecting such communication pipes and fittings.(4)Where it is practicable to supply water at a reasonable cost within the meaning of sub-section (2) of section 197, the work relating to making of connection and fixing of communication pipes and fittings shall be executed within a period of one month from the date of receipt of the application referred to in sub-section (1).(5)The cost recovered under this section for making connection and supplying communication pipes and fittings shall be spent only on works relating to water-supply.
