27. The Research and Innovation Council.- (1) Research and Innovation
Council shall be the Principal Research and Innovation Committee of the Universityand shall provide the larger holistic vision of the kind of research to be undertaken bythe University, including prioritization of the research areas. Research and InnovationCouncil shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statutes, Regulations and theRules, co-ordinate and exercise general, supervision over the Innovation and Researchpolicies of the University.(2)The Research and Innovation Council shall consist of the following, namely:-(i)The Vice- Chancellor - Chairperson(ii)The Pro Vice-Chancellor – Member(iii)The Dean of Research – Secretary(iv)Head of the Department of Innovation – Member(v)Deans of all Faculties - Members(vi)Such other members as may be specified in the Statutes
