Section 143(3) in The Mizoram Autonomous District Council (Constitution and Conduct of Business of the District Councils) Rules, 1974
(3)If the preceding officer, owing to illness or other unavoidable cause is obliged to absent himself from the polling station, his duties shall be performed by such polling officer as has been previously authorised by the Returning Officer to perform such duties during any such absence.
