Section 243(1) in The Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976
(1)Except as provided in Section 244, no person shall erect, set up, add to, or place against or in front of any premises any structure or fixture which will-(a)[ overhang, jut or project into, or] [The words in any way encroach upon and' shall be omitted vide Punjab Act No. 7 of 1995.](b)jut or project into [-] [The words or encroach upon' shall be omitted vide Punjab Act No. 7 of 1995. ] any drain or open channel in any streets so as in any way to interfere with the use or proper working of such drain or channel or to impede the inspection or cleanising thereof.
