Section 1 in The Transfer Of Evacuee Deposits Act, 1954
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Transfer of Evacuee Deposits Act, 1954.(2)It extends to the whole of India, except [the territories which, immediately before the 1st November, 1956, were comprised in] [Inserted by the Adaptation of Laws (No. 3) Order, 1956. ] the States of Assam, West Bengal, Tripura, Manipur and Jammu and Kashmir.(3)It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of February, 1954.
