17. Assignment of symbol.
- (i) In the case of every contested election, the Election Officer shall allot a different symbol to each candidate in Form VII in conformity as far as practicable with his choice from the symbols in schedule I and his decision in this behalf shall be final.(ii)If more contesting candidates than one, having indicated their preference for the same symbol, the Election Officer shall decide by lot to which of such candidates, the symbol will be allotted.
