- The District Committee shall perform the following functions:-(a)to enquire into allegations of serious misconduct, against police personnel in subordinate rank, either suo moto or on a complaint and to send its recommendations to the disciplinary authority concerned:Provided that the disciplinary authority shall take decision on the recommendations made by the committee within a period of three months and send a copy of the decision also for information of the committee;(b)to monitor departmental enquiries against police officers in the subordinate ranks;(c)to refer to the State Committee complaints received to it against the police officers in the supervisory ranks and such other matters as it may deem fit.
