(3)(a)No person shall carry out any examination, repair or other work in any shaft while winding operations are being carried on; and no winding shall be carried on or permitted while persons are engaged in such examination, repair or work, except where winding is necessary for the same.(b)The person in immediate charge of any examination, repair or work in any shaft shall warn the banksman and the winding engineman that such examination, repair or work is about to be undertaken.(c)Every person while engaged in any examination, repair or other work in a shaft shall be accompanied by at least one other person; and all such persons shall be provided with safety belts of a type approved by the Chief Inspector and effectively protected against the risk of falling.(d)Every person engaged in carrying out an examination, repair or other work in a shaft shall be protected by a suitable covering from objects falling from above and every such person shall also be provided with a protective hat and shall wear the same when so engaged.
