Section 495 in The Coimbatore City Municipal Corporation Act, 1981
495. Duties of police officers.
(1)It shall be the duty of every police officer,-(a)to communicate without delay to the proper municipal officer any information which he received of the design to commit or of the commission of any offence under this Act or any rule, by-law or regulation made under it; and(b)to assist the Commissioner or any municipal officer of servant, or any person to whom the Commissioner has lawfully delegated powers reasonably demanding his aid for the lawful exercise of any power vesting in the Commissioner or in such municipal officer or servant or persons under this Act or any such rule, by-law or regulation.(2)Any police officer who omits or refuses to perform any duty imposed on him by this Act shall be deemed to have committed an offence, under section 10 or under section 44 of the Tamil Nadu District Police Act, 1859 (Central Act XXIV of 1859).
