12. Qualifying Standard and Marks.
(1)The Board shall fix the qualifying standard for passing the preliminary examination and main examination for all candidates including those belonging to reserved categories.(2)The candidate who has obtained qualifying marks in Main Examination (Objective type-written examination) as may be fixed by the Board shall be declared pass:Provided that the candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes or Scheduled Tribes or Socially and Educationally Backward Classes may be allowed to appear in the Physical Screening Test or, as the case may be, in Main Examination by relaxing the standard in the preliminary examination or, as the case may be, in the physical screening test, if the Board is of the opinion that sufficient number of candidates from these communities are not likely to be available for Physical Screening Test or, as the case may be, on the basis of the qualifying standard fixed for general category to fill up the vacancies reserved for such categories.
