1. Short title.
- These rules may be called the Jamadar, Class-III, Prohibition and Excise (Competitive Examination) Rules, 2013.2. Definition.
- In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,-3. Conditions for Eligibility.
4. Age limit.
- For appearing in the examination, a candidate shall have attained the age of 18 years [and shall not have attained the age of 28 years] [Inserted by Notification No. GG/65/2013/MKM/102011/3139/E-1, dated 26.9.2013 (w.e.f. 15.5.2013).] on the date specified by the Board in the advertisement.5. Educational Qualification.
- A candidate possessing the requisite qualifications for the appointment to the post of Jamadar, Class-Ill, under the relevant recruitment rules shall be eligible for admission to the examination.6. Holding of Examination.
7. Syllabus.
- The Syllabus for preliminary examination and for main examination shall be as specified in Part I and Part III of the Appendix.8. Mode of Examination.
9. Medium of Examination.
- The medium of examination shall be Gujarati except the paper of English for which the medium shall be English.10. Application to appear in examination.
11. Appearance at the main examination.
- No candidate shall be allowed to appear at the main examination unless the Board is satisfied that,-12. Qualifying Standard and Marks.
13. Preparation of Select List and Waiting List.
14. Decision of Board to be final.
15. No right to appointment.
- The candidates shall ordinarily be considered for appointment to the post in order of merit as determined by the Board up to the number of posts to be filled in. The mere success in the main examination shall not itself confer any right to appointment and it shall be open to the appointing authority to drop a candidate, if, after such inquiry, it is satisfied that the candidate is not suitable for public service.16. Medical Examination.
- The candidate qualified for appointment shall be required to pass the medical examination in accordance with the rules made by the Government in that behalf.17. Disciplinary action.
- A candidate who is or has been declared by the Board to be guilty of-18. Mark-sheet and rechecking of Marks.
19. Duty of candidate.
- The candidate shall be required to answer all question papers of the examination in his own handwriting.20. Prohibition to use certain devices in the examination Hall.
- The candidate shall not be allowed to carry with him/her in the examination hall, a cellular phone, calculator, pager or any other electronic communication devices.21. Conduct and regulation of examination.
- The Board shall regulate all matters relating to appointment of examiners and conduct of examination in accordance with the procedure adopted by it and in conformity with the Government's order in that behalf.Appendix[See Rules 7 and 8]Part I – Preliminary Examination
