Section 56(1) in The M.P. Nagarpalika Nirvachan Niyam, 1994
(1)As soon as practicable after the closing of poll, the Presiding Officer shall, in the presence of candidates or their election agents or polling agents close the slit of the ballot box and where the ballot box does not contain any mechanical device for closing the slit, he shall seal up the slit and also allow any candidate, election agent or polling agent present to affix his seal.
