(1)Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, the statutes, ordinances or regulations, every student of Dr. Alagappa Chettiar Teachers Training College, Karaikudi, of the Alagappa College of Physical Education, Karaikudi and of every institution specified in the Schedule, who immediately before the date of publication of this Act in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, was studying in such college or institution or was eligible for any examination held or conducted by the Madurai-Kamaraj University, shall be permitted to complete his course of study or be admitted to the examination of the University and the University shall make arrangements-(a)for the instruction, teaching, training and holding exantination for such students for such period and in such manner as may be determined by the first Vice-Chancellor in accordance with the course of study in the Madurai-Kamaraj University; and(b)for the conferment of the corresponding degree, diploma or other academic distinctions of the University upon the qualified students on result of such examination.
