Section 1 in Manipur (Village Authorities in Hill Areas) Act, 1956
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Manipur (Village Authorities in Hill Areas) Act, 1956.(2)It extends to the whole of the hill areas of the Union territory of Manipur.(3)It shall come into force on such [date] [18th April, 1957, vide notification No. S.R.O. 88, dated 7th January, 1957, see Gazette of India, Part II, section 3.] as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
