Section 53(11)(a) in Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Rules, 1988

(a)If at any stage of the election, the proceedings are interrupted or obstructed by any riot or open violence or it is not possible to proceed with the election on account of any natural calamity, the Election Officer shall have power to stop the election recording his reasons for such action.
